Pro Tool Reviews strives to provide builders and contractors with reliable reviews to help them make better tool purchasing decisions. The online magazine’s editor-in-chief recently used our products to renovate the outdoor living space at his 1920s-era Florida bungalow — and the tool critic came away impressed.
When Clint DeBoer set out to replace his heavily damaged heart pine wrap-around porch and rear deck, his wish list included:
- An ultra-durable, stylish composite decking solution.
- Complementary railing and accessories from a one-stop source for deck-building needs.
- Products that offered ease of installation.
DeBoer ultimately opted for Deckorators® Vista Decking in Ashwood, CXT Pro Contemporary railing, CXT Pro balusters, CXT Paramount post sleeves and Stylepoint Paramount post caps, and the products earned a glowing review on the Pro Tool Reviews website.
“There’s more to (going with a composite system) than just picking a board and choosing your fastener — Deckorators composite decking and railing seems to really provide a great blend of everything that makes these renovation projects successful,” DeBoer wrote in an October article about his porch-and-deck remodel.
DeBoer continued, “We really liked working with this brand, and pros and homeowners alike will really appreciate the ease of installation — possibly more than the breadth of options in their product catalogue.”
New for 2015, Deckorators composite decking drew particularly high praise from DeBoer. The capped deck boards feature a solid profile and are available in Classic, Vista and Heritage categories. Vista’s variegated boards give the look of tropical hardwood with the performance of composite.
“The Deckorators composite decking is a great product that’s already won its share of compliments from friends and neighbors,” DeBoer wrote. “It has a great look; is durable; installs easily; and comes in a variety of styles, colors and sizes. The before and after of the front and back porches is nothing short of astonishing.”
