Deckorators News Release

INTRODUCING TRADITIONAL BALUSTERS
Classic lines and cost-saving installation
combine to create a product that’s a hit with builders.

ORLANDO – Jan. 11, 2006 – Deckorators has developed a reputation in the building products industry for creating innovative ways to beautify deck rails, and with their new Traditional balusters, the company’s design team has taken a page from the past to create a baluster that uses simple lines, sleek edges and a traditional look.

The company’s new Traditional balusters are being introduced for the first time at the 2006 International Builders Show. They can be seen at Booth 11096 in the South Hall of the Orange County Convention Center, January 11-14, 2006.

The Traditional balusters offer substantial design detail packed into a square-edged baluster that measures a hearty 1” by ½”. The balusters are 32 inches high and made of maintenance free powder-coated aluminum. The Traditional balusters are available in either bronze or black finish. Traditional balusters also come with a limited life-time warranty.

Installation of the Traditional balusters is fast and easy, with pre-drilled holes and matching stainless steel screws that have been designed to attach the baluster cleanly to the top and bottom rails. The balusters are capped with matching top and bottom plastic caps making them the perfect upgrade for decks with existing wooden pickets, or a great way to make a simple deck really stand out.

As with all Deckorators products, the Traditional balusters have been manufactured to work with any kind of wood as well as composite decking materials.

“Our focus groups indicate that customers have a range of desires when it comes to creating signature deck rails. The Traditional baluster meets the desire for something simple yet different. We’re excited about the possibilities for this new line of product,” said Kelly Jones, president of Deckorators.

Deckorators manufactures a wide variety of aluminum balusters, in Classic, Colonial, and Architectural styles. Their new Scenic Series balusters, introduced at the 2005 IBS, have won numerous awards for their innovative styling and ease of installation.  Builders have helped to make the Scenic Series the most successful new product in Deckorators history.

In addition, the company manufacturers coordinating accessories, such as centerpieces, baskets, collars, and post caps in a variety of styles and colors to make decorating a deck rail a personal creative endeavor.

Builders have benefited in the last few years from homeowners’ desires to create inviting outdoor living spaces, and the Deckorators products have experienced tremendous sales growth with their growing lines of baluster products.

In 2005, Deckorators Scenic Series balusters were awarded both the “Most Valuable Product” Award from Building Products Magazine and “Product of the Year” from Shelter Magazine. The glass balusters are also a candidate for “Best New Product of 2005,” a designation awarded by Woman’s Day’s Special Interest Publications.

In both 2004 and 2005, Deckorators has won Most Valuable Product awards from the building products industry. In 2004, the award was for Architectural Balusters. In 2005, the Scenic Series received the MVP Award.
