At Deckorators®, we believe the best builders don’t just build great decks — they stand out through their craftsmanship, leadership, and commitment to their communities.

This fall, we’re inviting a group of Deckorators Certified Pros to do exactly that.

Introducing Deckorators Build It Forward — a multi-day volunteer build in Nashville where Certified Pros will come together to help homeowners in need. Working alongside our partners at Rebuilding Together Nashville, we’ll be building new outdoor spaces for families who otherwise wouldn’t have access to them.

Beyond giving back, Build It Forward is also an opportunity to learn and collaborate. During the build, you’ll work side-by-side with Deckorators field specialists and fellow Certified Pros, sharing ideas, techniques, and best practices on the jobsite.

Deckorators is proud to partner with Rebuilding Together Nashville, a nonprofit dedicated to preserving homes and strengthening communities. Together, we’ll create safe, welcoming outdoor spaces for homeowners who need them most.

Hotel Accomodations

Deckorators has secured a room block at Caption by Hyatt Downtown Nashville. Hotel accommodations for up to two rooms per company will be covered for the first 50 Certified Pros to register. Any additional rooms—or registrations beyond the first 50—will be the responsibility of the Certified Pro.

Event Schedule

  • Tuesday, Oct 20: Travel to Nashville
  • Wednesday, Oct 21: Build with us all day, then wind down with an evening celebration featuring live music from The Nashville Band at Cannery Hall. Food and drinks are on us.
  • Thursday, Oct 22: Enjoy Nashville (weather makeup day if needed)
  • Friday, Oct 23: Travel home

FAQs

Here are answers to some questions regarding the Build It Forward event.

What costs are covered by Deckorators?
  • Hotel Accommodations – Deckorators will cover up to two hotel rooms per Certified Pro at Caption by Hyatt Downtown Nashville for the first 50 registrants.
  • Meals – Breakfast is on us each build day.
  • Wednesday Evening Event – Join us at Cannery Hall for good food, cold drinks, and live music from The Nashville Band.
  • Building Materials & Tools – All materials and tools needed for the build will be provided.

You’re responsible for your own travel expenses, including:

  • Airfare
  • Other meals
  • Hotel costs if you register after the first 50 spots are filled or need more than two rooms

Note: Because Deckorators Build It Forward is a charitable volunteer event and includes hands-on training with Deckorators field specialists, you may be able to treat travel expenses as a business or charitable tax write-off. We recommend consulting your tax professional for details.
Do I need to bring my own tools?

Deckorators will provide the materials and tools needed to complete the builds. However, contractors are welcome to bring their own tools if they prefer working with their personal equipment.
Can I bring members of my crew?

Certified Pros are welcome to bring members of their crew to participate in the build. Please note that space is limited, so each person attending must be included and listed by name when registering to attend the event.

Will there be training opportunities during the build?

Yes. One of the unique aspects of Build It Forward is the opportunity to collaborate directly with Deckorators field specialists and other Certified Pros. Throughout the build, participants will be able to share techniques, discuss best practices, and gain hands-on experience working with Deckorators products.
What skill level is required?

This event is designed for professional builders and contractors. As a Deckorators Certified Pro, your experience and craftsmanship will help ensure the projects are completed safely and successfully.
Will photos or video be taken during the event?

Yes. Deckorators will capture professional photo and video throughout the build. Participants will receive access to these assets to use in their own marketing, social media, and business promotion.
How will transportation work during the event?

Deckorators will provide transportation for participants from the designated hotel area to the build sites each day. Transportation will also be provided to and from the special event on Wednesday evening.

Additional details about meeting locations and schedules will be shared with registered participants prior to the event.
What should I wear or bring to the build?

Participants should plan to wear appropriate jobsite attire and safety gear. Additional event details and recommendations will be shared prior to the event.
What happens after I reserve my spot?

After you reserve your spot, you’ll receive a confirmation email letting you know you’re registered. Closer to the event, the Deckorators team will follow up with a separate communication that includes next steps for the build, additional event details, and information for those attending—such as hotel room coordination for Certified Pros who were within the first 50 to register.
