Deck Visualizer FAQs

What's the difference between the Deck Visualizer and the 3D Deck Builder?

The Deck Visualizer is designed for exploring product combinations—decking colors, railing styles, and privacy screens—within realistic home settings. It's the fastest way to see how different Deckorators products look together. The 3D Deck Builder is a deeper planning tool that lets you customize deck layouts, add stairs and furniture, and generate a detailed materials list. Use the Deck Visualizer to narrow down your style preferences, then move to the 3D Deck Builder when you're ready to plan the build.

How do I share my Deck Visualizer design with my contractor or dealer?

Once you've finalized your selections, you can email a summary of your product choices directly from the tool. Share that summary with your contractor, local dealer, or a Deckorators Certified Pro so everyone is working from the same product specs. It's especially useful during onsite consultations when you want to align on colors and styles before purchasing.

How accurate are the colors and finishes in the Deck Visualizer?

The tool provides photo-realistic representations of Deckorators products, but actual colors and finishes may vary slightly on screen. Factors like monitor settings, lighting, and device type can affect how colors appear. We recommend ordering free deck samples before making final decisions—you can order up to 6 individual boards or a pre-selected sample kit directly from the Deck Visualizer page.

Which Deckorators products are available in the Deck Visualizer?

The tool currently features a selection of Deckorators decking, railing, and privacy screens—with over 35 deck width and color combinations across multiple collections. It does not include every product in the Deckorators lineup (such as lighting, post caps, or individual balusters), but we regularly update the tool with new styles and finishes.

What should I do after I've created my design in the Deck Visualizer?

Start by emailing your product selections to yourself for reference. From there, you have several next steps depending on where you are in your project: order free samples to see your choices in person, use the Deck Cost Calculator for a quick price estimate, move to the 3D Deck Builder to create a detailed layout with a materials list, or connect with a Deckorators Certified Pro who can help bring your design to life.
