Q: How did you get started in deck building?
A: We started this business in 1989. Almost 30 years ago, and we started small. I was looking for a business where I could show creativity, be involved with people and be instrumental in making dreams come true for homeowners.
Q: What services do you offer?
A: We offer a variety of fencing and decking services. About 70-80% of the decks we do are composite. That really helps the customer because they don’t have to maintain their decks. They just simply wash it once or twice a year and they can enjoy the beauty of a deck for a long time.
Q: How many decks do you typically build in a year and how many crews do you have?
A: We build anywhere from 60 to 100 decks a year. Depends on how big they are, and some of them are pretty extensive with all kinds of elevation or 2-3 layer decks.
Three decking crews. They’re all professionals, and they like to be involved with the project details from A to Z.
Q: When and how did you first encounter Deckorators?
A: I’ve been involved with the decking business for over 30 years. I’ve seen a lot of composites out there. About 3 ½ years ago somebody knocked on my door and introduced the Deckorators brand. I looked at it and said, “Oh boy another composite out there, and I don’t need to see another one. I’ve seen them all.”
What really sold me to this brand was the service and the dedication of the people who presented the product. From there it’s history. If I call, I get the service right away. A lot of times, us builders, we need a board or we need something in the last minute or we need material or whatever. They are there to help us and that’s huge.
Q: What makes Adrian’s truly unique?
A: What makes us unique is the fact that we are very particular about details. I want to make sure we cover every angle. Quality is in our name. It’s important we not only talk about it but also see it in our product and our services.
Q: Is there Deckorators deck project you’ve competed that was Beyond Ordinary?
A: I want every project to be Beyond Ordinary. I really do believe that we have to stand out. In this day and age with the competition that’s surrounding us, we have to be different than the rest.
It’s important in how we approach the customer, it’s important in how we do our jobs and it’s important in how we follow up when the project is done to make sure the customer is happy and that we’ve met and exceeded their expectations.
Q: What do you see in the future of Deckorators and Adrian’s Quality Fencing and Decks?
A: If they keep up the good work, we’ll stand with them. I’ve had a great experience with Deckorators, and I believe this will continue for years. If they keep up the good work and we do the same by representing them, then I think this is a long-standing relationship.
